You know they say places hold memories, moments in time with people that quite possibly aren't still in your life or that have never left. Sometimes it leaves you with an empty feeling that allows you to feel something you once did before, or quite even allow you to accept that life leads you astray and things don't always work out the way you want them to.
When M took me to Queensland this week, I didn't want to think about the past. Who I was with last time and what we did. The thing however is, nothing really happened last time, there isn't much I can hold onto and in a way two months seem like nothing at all - just a summer romance.
M and I have been together for 3 months now and I feel like it's been longer. I feel everything I think you are meant to. Happy, Alive, Scared, Afraid but mostly love. Which is meant to test you both ways most of the time.
Being alone, just the two of us allowed me to get more comfortable within myself. Memories crept in but the thing about that is, they didn't stay. They allowed me to relive a moment in my life where sure I was happy and in love but that wasn't the place for that moment.
My gaze would fall to M and I would wonder how I got so lucky.
It reminds me of what Kim said to me "You've had the one that treated you like nothing and now that you have someone who makes you happy and is kind and good, you want to hold on to it" and she's right.
I learnt from last time, I took the mistakes and I make it right. I give myself 110% to this and i'm not holding anything back. If this doesn't work and I do get hurt - at least I know that I gave all of me, and not just a piece.
I can't wait to just go over and wrap myself in his arms, in his bed and watch beauty and the geek from what I missed watching last night because we were coming home.
